Reach-In Refrigerators and Freezers Compressor Options:

Bottom-Mounted Compressor

Bottom-mounted compressors are best for hot environments since they pull in the cooler air near the ground rather than the rising hot air. Thus, making the unit more energy efficient. However, a bottom-mounted compressor will take up some storage space in the bottom of the unit. It also runs the risk of becoming clogged due to dust, grease, or other debris.

Top-Mounted Compressor

Top-mounted compressors take in the warmer air that rises toward the ceiling, making it best suited for cooler environments. These compressors are less likely to get clogged from food debris and dust, and, does not occupy any unit space. However, top-mounted compressors are not as easily accessible for service, maintenance, or cleanings.

Reach-In Refrigerators & Freezers Door Options:

Swing Doors

Swing doors for reach-in refrigerators typically come equipped with a self-closing feature and a feature that keeps the door open. This helps make packing and unpacking of the ingredients or product inside easier. Although efficient, swing doors have the potential to block traffic flow depending on the kitchen or facility's space limitations.

Half-Doors

Half Doors are essentially the same as swing doors, but they are split into top & bottom sections. This type of door for reach-in refrigerators or freezers help with energy consumption. The smaller door openings reduces the amount of cold air that escapes when opening a half door versus opening a full length swing door.

Sliding Doors

Sliding doors for reach-in refrigerators require less space. Since the doors do not swing outward they do not have the potential of blocking passage ways in your kitchen or healthcare facility. These doors can be a great alternative to swing doors in your reach-in refrigerator or freezer if space and traffic flow is a concern for your business.
